A day in a wheelchair

Today was my day in a wheelchair.
Once I got off the wheelchair the sides of my thumb really hurt and it felt funny walking.
Today was really fun but I would not like to be in a wheelchair for more than 2 days!!!!

Kapa Haka 2012

The butterflies in my stomach suddenly turned into mammoth elephants as we were about to step on stage. We performed in front of about 2.5 thousand people on the 4th of September 2012.

When we got to the CBS Arena we went through the performers entrance and the girls put on their black lipstick, earring and feathers.

Next we went to our seats and watched about 5 performances. We then went to the  back stage area and the boys put on their pupus. After that we got into our lines. The nerves got bigger  and bigger as performing time got closer and closer. Then all of a sudden we were up on stage and the nerves just disappeared into nothing as we realised we couldn't see anyone.

The boys hakas were really loud and powerful and then it was the girls time to shine. We got to  the front of the stage and sang our to songs and the audience clapped along to REACH!!

I'm glad that I went and I'm looking forward to next time.

Art Mardi gras masks

    1. I made the following changes from the planning stage to the making stage.Different shape, different eyes, no ribbon, grey not white.
    2. The hardest part of creating my mask was getting the eye holes to fit face.
    3. The coulers I used represent, Black and Grey= Blend in. Purple and red=Bright. Gold and Green = stand out.
    4. My mask is suitable for celebrating 30 years of cultural because it is dull then bursts of couler.
